Staff: Creator and Editor: Steven F. Palter, MD Dr. Steven Palter is a board certified specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is the Medical and Scientific Director of The Reproductive Medicine and Surgery Center in NY and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. He is the creator of StreamOR. Dr. Palter received his undergraduate and Medical Degrees from Boston University in the combined Accelerated Six-Year Medical Honors Program where he was awarded the Kenneth Edelin Award for Excellence in Ob/Gyn and the Ciba award for outstanding community service. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo where he was awarded the Chairmans award for clinical and academic excellence and special recognition from the Association of Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He was fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Yale University School of Medicine where he remained on the faculty after completion of his fellowship. At Yale Dr. Palter served as Director of the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship Program, the Electronic Communications Laboratory the Office Laparoscopy Program, the Yale OncoFertility Center, as well as Clinic Chief of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He was also a member of the Istitutional Review Board of the Medical School. His clinical research has been recognized with awards from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Pacific Coast Fertility Society, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists and is currently on the National Advisory Board of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He regularly lectures and teaches other physicians at national and international medical meetings and has been invited to operate across the US, in South America, Europe, and Asia.
Strategic Advisor: Henry Lang Mr. Lang is currently a Senior
Associate with Fortis Capital, where he is responsible for structuring
and syndicating senior debt, mezzanine, and equity investments in
leverage finance transactions. Previously,
Mr. Lang was an Assistant Vice President and generalist in the Private
Securities Group of Alliance Capital Management, where he was
responsible for sourcing, analyzing and executing investments in private
debt securities and leveraged loans. He has also worked in technology
equity research at Wit SoundView covering Internet infrastructure
companies. Mr. Lang earned
his MBA from New York Universitys Stern School of Business, where he
was a Stern Scholar.

Thomas Rutherford, MD Dr Rutherford is a board certified specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology. He is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Rutherford obtained his undergraduate degree from Roanoke University. He then completed a masters in chemistry at John Carroll University and a PhD in molecular biology at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo where he also received his MD degree. He completed his residency at the RWJ Medical School in Camden and his fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine. He has an extensive research background and publication list. He is recognized as a specialist in gynecologic oncology with a special interest in ovarian cancer and complicated gynecologic surgery. Dr. Rutherford is renowned for his clinical and research excellence and for maintaining the busiest surgical schedule known to StreamOR. He is a member of the AOA medical honor society and a recipient of the New England Association of Gynecologic Oncologists Trainee Award and an American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Fellowship. Dr. Rutherford contributed footage for the open gynecology procedure section of StreamOR. Kirk Shelley, MD Dr Shelley is a board certified specialist in Anesthesia and Internal Medicine. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. He graduated Magna Cum laude from St. John's University and then obtained MD and PhD degrees (with a thesis on Computer Image Processing) from the Hershey Medical Center. He completed residencies in internal medicine at the Lenox Hill Medical Center in NYC and at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He has won numerous prizes for his work including several for technology use in anesthesia. Dr. Shelley's current research focuses on the development of tools for the noninvasive measurement of physiologic parameters which could revolutionize how patients are monitored in the operating room and the ICU. He is also recognized for developing this technology in an "open source" manner to further scientific collaboration. Dr. Shelley contributed footage for the Anesthesiology section of StreamOR Abe Mandel, MD Bio coming soon Barbara Levy, MD Bio coming soon Sarah Cohn, JD Attorney Cohn is the general counsel of Yale New haven Hospital in New Haven, CT where she also serves on the Institutional review board.
