Hysteroscopic Surgical Procedures |
|
Hysteroscopy is the endoscopic examination of the uterine cavity. Using a telescope virtually identical to a urologic cystoscope surgeons can look directly into the uterine cavity. The ability to perform operative hysteroscopy has eliminated the need for many procedures which used to require large abdominal and uterine incisions. More recently, resections of fibroids, polyps, and endometrial ablation procedures have eliminated the need for many hysterectomies |
